Thanks to the article here, which drew on the original work done by The Economist here, the above graphic gives some indication of the changing economic fortunes of some Southeast Asian states in recent years.

One problem is that the data only captures the top performers, and it may be (for example) that there are some surprise performers lurking just below the top ten cut-off.

The most striking shift appears to be Mynamar’s calamitous descent down the rankings. I’m not sure what explains that change and would welcome any insight from readers (using reputable sources please).
